Minimalistic Action RPG Prototype

I’m currently prototyping a minimalistic action rpg, trying to focus on item crafting (with a mod system similar to but simpler than Diablo 2, Path of Exile, Last Epoch) and some simplified action gameplay. The vision is to reduce the control the player has over the controlled characters to a minimum similar to an auto battler. Some agency will be possible (and required) in the form of active skills that can influence the battle like taunting nearby enemies or going into stealth to shift enemy focus between characters.

This is my first time trying out ECS (using fleks) in an actual project and learning all it’s advantages and disadvantages. So far I’m enjoying the composability and isolation of behavior which enabled me to simulate gameplay without any graphical user interface. Do I smell a blog post about automated testing in gamedev in my future? I do think so!
